Prom Sponsorship Initiative

At the Designed by Sisterhood Foundation, we believe every young woman deserves to feel confident, celebrated, and supported during life’s defining moments.

​

Prom is more than a night out,  it’s a milestone that shapes confidence, self-worth, and lasting memories. For some families, however, the financial barrier can make this experience feel out of reach.

​

Through our Prom Sponsorship Initiative, we provide a graduating senior with a prom dress, shoes, and beauty services, with support up to $600. This initiative is designed to ensure that one deserving young woman can fully participate in this important moment feeling seen, valued, and confident.

​

This is more than a sponsorship,  it’s an investment in how she sees herself.

How It Works

Nominations are open to young women who:

• Are graduating high school seniors

• Demonstrate resilience, character, or need

• Would benefit from financial support for prom

​

Selected recipients will receive support toward:

• Prom dress

• Shoes

• Hair and makeup services​

​

Eligibility & Guidelines

To ensure we are reaching those most in need within our local community, nominees must meet the following criteria:

• Must be a graduating high school senior (Class of 2026)

• Must reside in one of the five boroughs of New York City or Long Island

• Must demonstrate financial need, personal resilience, or a meaningful life circumstance

• Must be attending prom in the current school year

As part of the nomination process, each applicant (or nominator) is required to submit a short paragraph sharing:

• Why the nominee is deserving of this sponsorship

• Any challenges or circumstances that make this support meaningful

• What attending prom would mean to them

​

This helps us better understand each story and ensures selections are made with intention and care.

​

Selection Process

Recipients will be selected based on a combination of:

• Demonstrated need

• Strength of story and personal character

• Overall alignment with the mission of the Designed by Sisterhood Foundation

​

All submissions will be reviewed thoughtfully and confidentially.

​

Additional Notes

• All information provided will be kept private and used solely for selection purposes

• Selected recipient may be asked for permission to share their story (optional) to help inspire and support future initiatives

• The Foundation reserves the right to verify eligibility details if needed

• Winner announced May 3, 2026.
